Amazon recently announced that it will be shutting down Quidsi, one of Amazon’s largest acquisitions to date. Quidsi is the parent company to Diapers.com and Wag.com. Since acquiring Diapers.com and Wag.com in 2011, the company was unable to profit from the acquisition. In June, 261 employees at Quidsi’s headquarters will lose their jobs, according to reports.
“We have worked extremely hard for the past seven years to get Quidsi to be profitable, and unfortunately we have not been able to do so,” said an Amazon representative.
Amazon has yet to announce when the e-commerce sites will go offline, but the company plans to continue providing a wide selection of similar products through Amazon.com.
