Bentley’s Pet Stuff continues rapid expansion

On Feb. 6 it was reported that Bentley’s Pet Stuff acquired four Muttz Pet Goods and Gifts locations in Colorado from founder and owner Kim Morgan, increasing its store count in the state to 18. Muttz Pet Goods and Gifts will now be able to offer e-commerce ordering with free shipping on orders $49 or more.

“We are pleased to collaborate with another independent pet retailer and expand our existing presence in Colorado,” said Giovanni Senafe, co-founder and vice president of Bentley’s Pet Stuff. “Morgan will help us as we expand our Colorado market.”

Morgan will still maintain her presence in the business as a Bentley’s Pet Stuff team member. “It’s wonderful when you find another independent retailer whose mission and business beliefs align with yours, making it an easy transition,” said Morgan, adding her employees are happy and “will get health benefits and maintain the great business we’ve built.”

A day earlier, Senafe announced the acquisition of Green Pawz in Michigan. “We are super excited to announce our entry into the Michigan market with the platform of one of the best stores in the industry, Green Pawz,” Senafe said.

Owner Lisa Pearce will continue to hold a presence in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as Bentley’s plans to open eight to 10 more stores in the state within the next year, including the Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo areas. “Bentley’s Pet Stuff’s beliefs align perfectly with ours, and we are very happy to say that all of our employees are staying on board, and they will now be getting health insurance and promotions from within” said Pearce, who will be instrumental in the company’s growth in Michigan.

Bentley’s Pet Stuff now has more than 100 stores across 13 US states.
