Phillips Pet Food Acquires Wolverton

Phillips Pet Food and Supplies officials announced the company will acquire Wolverton. The acquisition is effective February 21, 2014.

“Wolverton has been known as one of the premiere distributors in the Midwest, and we are thrilled to incorporate their longstanding market presence and talented organization into the Phillips family,” said company officials in a statement.

The acquisition will allow for Phillips Pet Food to offer three distribution centers. The Wolverton ownership and management team, consisting of Jerry Parks, Perry Parks and Dave Rinckey, will continue operating the Wolverton distribution facility.

Phillips Pet Food officials said the acquisition will not change the way it conducts business with its partners. “Our goal and mission will remain sustaining the health of the independent pet channel,” representatives said. “We truly believe a major component of this goal is providing increased availability of products and services from a single, trusted distribution partner.”
