Pet Wants Adds 22 New Franchises
Pet Wants, the Cincinnati-based high-quality pet food and supplies franchise, has added 22 new franchises amidst record-breaking sales in 2020. Pet Wants now has 111 territories across the country.
Pet Wants, which is part of the Strategic Franchising family, provides pet owners with premium, fresh pet food, free of animal by-products and non-nutritious fillers. Franchise owners have the option of operating a mobile or retail location.
“The pet industry is exploding right now, so there’s never been a better time to be part of it,” said Chris Seman, President of Strategic Franchising. “I’m so proud to see the way Pet Wants was able to grow throughout the pandemic showing just how sound an investment this franchise can be.”
Pet adoption soared during the pandemic as families rushed to shelters and pet stores to find furry new friends to help bring a smile during the challenging time. The increase in pet families benefited Pet Wants which was able to capitalize with a 25 percent year-over-year revenue increase in 2020.
Pet wants, which originally launched in 2010, was built to provide small batch, slow-cooked, fresh, high-quality pet food delivered to customers through a retail store and home-delivery service. Now the company is hoping to take advantage of a trend that has Americans spending more than $36 billion a year on pet food and treats.
“Pet parents are really starting to pay attention to the quality of the food they are feeding their dogs and cats,” Seman said. “Pet Wants is one of the first in the industry to offer this kind of high-quality food at an affordable price, and we are confident that will lead to steady growth in the future.”
Pet Wants is actively searching for new franchise owners to join the team and hopes to add 47 more territories in 2021.
