Phillips Pet Food & Supplies Acquires Online Retailer
Phillips Pet Food & Supplies CEO Todd Shelton announced today the company has acquired the assets of PetFlow.com.
“When we asked our local and independent customers where we could help, the response was clear,” said Shelton in a prepared statement. “Local stores need new tools to serve their customers as technology changes and consumer demands for convenience increase,” he said.
PetFlow.com will convert from an online retailer into a resource for Phillips’ brick and mortar retail partners. The new format is intended to help retailers by offering consumers home delivery, a digital marketing engine and an online resource to engage pet owners. PetFlow will continue to serve its current customers, and Phillips is quick to note it is not looking to grow a business directly with consumers.
To further support its local and independent retailers, Phillips is focused on offering consumers a variety of products, even ones which won’t fit on retailers’ shelves; shipping items to consumers’ homes and marketing to current shoppers to encourage them to continue to shop at brick and mortar locations. Acquiring the assets of PetFlow is expected to allow Phillips to achieve those goals.
