Matrix Partners Earns Graphic Design Award for Work with Caru Pet Food
Matrix Partners, a full-service marketing firm that specializes in pet products, has been named a recipient of a Package Design Award from Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) for Caru Daily Dish Smoothies. The 58th anniversary GDUSA American Package Design Awards not only celebrated attractive graphics but, more importantly, the power of effective design to advance the brand promise and to forge an emotional link with the buyer. The design team at Matrix Partners was recognized for the innovative packaging they created on behalf of their client, Caru Pet Food.
Caru management wanted to introduce a new product within their Daily Dish line, which Matrix Partners also designed, so the team utilized similar assets, fonts and colors to establish a cohesive brand blocking look. One thing that sets this packaging apart from the rest of the Daily Dish line is that it features actual lifestyle images of a dog and cat to demonstrate the product in-use. This type of treat product is a newer category to the industry, so demonstrating the use of the product is important for potential customer education. The Matrix design team was able to bring this to the forefront of the packages in a visually appealing way. They included additional touches, such as a swirly textured background, script fonts and taglines, that added to the playfulness of the design to reiterate that this product is intended to be a fun way for pet parents to treat their furry friend.
“This award is the result of hard work and collaboration between our two designers, Natalie Murawski and George Wielgus, who worked together to create a standout design that would complement the Daily Dish Line,“ said Dennis Abelson, Partner – Chief Creative Officer at Matrix Partners. “We’re extremely pleased with the work they produced and honored to have received recognition from GDUSA.”
