VCA Animal Hospitals’ Animal Diagnostic Clinic Relocates and Opens as VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital

VCA Animal Hospitals, a lead provider of world-class veterinary care and part of Mars Veterinary Health, is proud to announce the opening of VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital, a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility and the new home of the team formerly known as Animal Diagnostic Clinic. The hospital also marks VCA Animal Hospital’s and Mars Veterinary Health’s first LEED Gold certified Hospital in the United States.

Located just across the street from its current address, the nearly 23,000-square-foot hospital represents a significant milestone in the hospital’s growth and commitment to delivering cutting-edge specialty care to pets and their families throughout the North Texas area. The hospital team will also celebrate the opening with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Nov. 2.

“This new facility is a game-changer for both our team and the pets we serve,” said Dr. Zachary Wright, Medical Director at VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital and Chair of the Mars Veterinary Health Oncology Advisory Board. “This would not be possible without the hard work, commitment and excellent patient care that our team already provides. This new facility is an opportunity to further raise the bar on the level of veterinary care provided to clients and patients of North Texas.”

VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital will continue to offer exceptional services in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Medical and Radiation Oncology and Emergency and Critical Care, while also expanding its capabilities to include Surgery (with an initial team of three surgeons) and Neurology. The hospital will offer Oncology Radiology treatment starting on Sept. 29, with plans to offer 24-hour Emergency Care in 2026.

With this growth comes access to advanced capabilities, including:

  • Ventilation support
  • 24-hour hemoperfusion for acute toxicities
  • Emergency surgeries
  • Minimally invasive surgeries and procedures
  • Cancer treatment using blood apheresis
  • A robust in-house blood banking program
  • A large clinical trial program
  • A Varian Edge Radiation machine

“These additions not only elevate our level of care—they expand what’s possible for pets in critical need,” added Matthew Dann, Hospital Administrator at VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital.

The newly constructed hospital is also proud to be LEED Gold certified, reflecting VCA’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Built with sustainability in mind, the facility incorporates energy-efficient systems, water-saving fixtures and responsible materials—all contributing to a healthier planet for pets and people alike.

The facility’s name change to VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital reflects the full scope of services now offered and positions the hospital as the Southwest regional destination for complex and collaborative veterinary medicine.
