SUPERZOO Takeaways: POS Systems

Several leading point-of-sale (POS) and retail management software providers for pet specialty stores showcased their platforms at SUPERZOO 2026. SUPERZOO offers companies an opportunity to demo products, connect with customers and show firsthand how technology can deliver real business value.

Demos were ready at the Retail Management Hero (RMH) booth. The company showcased its point-of-sale solutions and its new Astro Loyalty integration, which helps streamline checkout. Big Hairy Dog POS Systems displayed its precision inventory control and retail management software tailored for pet and feed specialty stores. eTailPet highlighted its specialized POS and eCommerce solutions built specifically for independent and locally owned pet retailers. The company also used SUPERZOO as an opportunity to promote its upcoming virtual event—a retail pet summit.

Subodh Gupta, Founder & CEO of Franpos, shared what the company was most excited to show at SUPERZOO.

“This year we’re excited to showcase several innovations designed specifically for the pet industry. One of our biggest introductions is Conversational Business Intelligence, which allows retailers to ask questions in plain English—such as ‘What were my top-selling treats last month?’ or ‘Which locations had the highest grooming revenue?’—and receive immediate answers without building reports.”

He continued, “We’re also introducing powerful new capabilities for Mobile Grooming, including intelligent route optimization that helps businesses schedule appointments more efficiently, reduce drive time, and maximize the number of pets serviced each day. For multi-location retailers and franchise organizations, we’re unveiling new Warehouse Management features that simplify inventory distribution, order fulfillment, and purchasing across stores. These tools help retailers maintain better inventory accuracy while reducing operational complexity.”

“Our focus continues to be building technology specifically for the pet industry—solutions that solve real operational challenges and help businesses grow without adding complexity,” said Gupta.

Attendees were able to experience Celerant’s pet shop retail software firsthand at the booth. The company recently unveiled a customer engagement suite that provides one central hub for unified retail marketing.

“Marketing is one of the most powerful growth drivers for retailers, but only when it’s connected. Our new Customer Engagement Suite brings every marketing channel into one place, powered by data from your stores and website. Retailers can now reach customers with smarter, personalized messages, manage engagement across every platform, and do it all from their phone,” said Michele Salerno, CGO of Celerant Technology.

She continued, “Our Customer Engagement Suite is another step in our mission to help retailers work smarter, not harder. It’s everything you need to stay connected with your customers and it’s all in one place.”

The global pet business POS market reached approximately $1.38 billion last year, driven by the increase in inventory complexity and integrated pet services, according to online media sources. Point-of-sale technology continues to evolve to address this complexity by delivering advanced functionality.

“Today’s pet retailers are looking for connected platforms that bring together retail, grooming, boarding, eCommerce, inventory management, marketing, payroll, and customer engagement into one seamless experience,” explained Gupta of Franpos.

“One of the biggest trends we’re seeing is the demand for actionable business intelligence. Retailers don’t just want reports—they want immediate answers that help them make better decisions. They’re also looking for ways to automate routine tasks so their teams can spend more time serving customers and caring for pets. Another major trend is mobility. Whether it’s mobile grooming, curbside pickup, or managing the business remotely, retailers expect the same flexibility from their software that consumers expect from their shopping experience.”

Celerant’s message at the booth and beyond is one of empowerment and innovation.

“Our mission has always been to help retailers run stronger businesses, no matter where or how they sell. Today, that means building technology that doesn’t just support the transaction, but drives engagement before, during, and after the sale. Whether through geo-fencing that brings shoppers into the store or digital campaigns managed from a phone, we’re helping our clients bridge the gap between brick-and-mortar and eCommerce like never before,” reported Ian Goldman, President and CEO of Celerant.

Franpos hoped attendees left its booth feeling ready to embrace what technology can do for pet businesses.

“We want attendees to leave our booth feeling inspired by what’s possible when technology is built specifically for the pet industry. Rather than showcasing individual features, we want retailers to experience how a connected platform can simplify daily operations, improve efficiency, and help grow their business,” noted Gupta previously. “We also hope visitors walk away knowing that Franpos is committed to the long-term success of independent pet retailers. Every solution we build starts by listening to our customers.”

“SUPERZOO has become one of the most important events of the year for Franpos. It brings together retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and technology providers from across the pet industry, creating an incredible opportunity to collaborate and share ideas,” Gupta explained. “We continue to return because no other event offers the same opportunity to connect with our customers, introduce new innovations, receive valuable feedback, and strengthen relationships.”

SUPERZOO offered POS providers and customers a chance to see how technology can support the pet industry by simplifying operations, strengthening customer engagement and creating opportunities for growth.
