Amazon to split HQ2 between two cities
On Nov. 5, 2018, The Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon has plans to divide it’s second headquarters between two cities. People familiar to the decision-making process, have revealed that the retail giant is close to making a deal to move into the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens as well as the Crystal City area of Arlington, Virginia.
The move to split HQ2 across two cities will reportedly give Amazon access to a larger pool of talent as well as reduce issues such as housing affordability and increased congestion that critics have often blamed on the company’s rapid growth in its hometown of Seattle.
