Andis Announces Winner of 2019 Hearts & Paws Award

After weeks of public voting for the contest’s three finalists, Andis is pleased to announce “As The Tail Wags” Staff as this year’s Hearts and Paws winner. The #HeartsAndPaws2019 contest launched on Facebook in June of 2019 with the intent of recognizing grooming professionals who show animals the best side of humanity through their volunteer work with local shelters.

Andis selected three finalists after gathering nominations and opened voting to the public where thousands of people from across the country weighed in to select “As The Tail Wags.”

This three-person team —made up of Kristie Perry Kingsland, Tonya Williamson and Ashley Roach — was nominated for their dedication to the pets in their community. Throughout their 10 years of service in Oviedo, Florida, they have worked with rescues including The Pixel Fund, Florida Little Dog Rescue, Pet Rescue by Judy, Pets for Paradise and Lovey Loaves.

They also use their passion to help citizens in their community by hosting dog washes to fund cancer treatments for community members and even organizing a nationwide dog wash that included 37 salons and raised over $10,000 for victims of The Pulse nightclub shooting.

“We at Andis are inspired by the team at As the Tails Wag and know the rest of grooming community is too,” said Nicole Kallish, Manager of Education- Animal for Andis. “Their daily efforts to go above and beyond their duties as grooming professionals makes the world a better place for people and pets.”

“This is a grooming salon not only dedicated to pets, but their community and the grooming industry,” said their nominator.

Andis will make a $2,000 donation to the Pixel Fund on behalf of As The Tail Wags, as well as provide the team with an Andis grooming kit valued at $1,200.
