Animal Supply Company Announces New President and CEO

Animal Supply Company, a national leader in pet food and supplies distribution, announced the promotion of Tim Batterson to President and CEO. Don McIntyre, former CEO, has accepted a position as CEO for another company outside of the pet industry.

Batterson joined Animal Supply Company (ASC) in 2014, most recently serving as its COO. He brings with him more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, IT, manufacturing, purchasing, logistics and distribution.

“I’m excited to work with my ASC teammates in this new role to expand our innovative product portfolio, distribution services and digital solutions to best serve our brand and retail partners,” said Batterson. “Animal Supply Company is financially stronger and better positioned for future growth than ever before.”

In August, the company announced a capital investment from an existing institutional owner to support growth. “With Tim’s leadership and this recent investment, we are well poised to help the specialty pet channel thrive, even in this uncertain time,” said Randy Reber, Chairman of the Board and one of the original founders of the company. “Thank you to Don for helping us secure the leading market position we’re in today. There is a bright future ahead for Animal Supply Company and the independent pet industry.”
