Bark TV Launches National Multiplatform Distribution Network to Reach Dog Lovers Nationwide

Bark TV, the first multiplatform network with 24-hour-a-day programming dedicated exclusively to dog lovers, is now available in more than 80 broadcast markets across the country. After a soft launch last year, Bark TV has expanded its library and now broadcasts nationwide as an over-the-air (OTA) diginet channel and on free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platforms.

A mix of original programming and licensed television series, Bark TV is the destination on the dial for brand-safe, feel-good content that will make viewers want to sit and stay. An extensive collection of fun, entertaining and educational programming now includes footage from popular creators such as Dr. Lindsay Butzer and Grooming By Rudy and well-known dog influencers like Felix the Wanderlust Samoyed and Crusoe the Dachshund.

Loyal viewers also have the opportunity to see their own pups featured on Bark TV by visiting Bark TV  and filling out a brief form. The photos uploaded will be featured on the channel and broadcast to millions across the country.

“Americans not only love their dogs — nearly 60 million US households have one — they love dog content too,” said Brendan Canning, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Triple B Media, which operates Bark TV. “Through a series of partnerships with broadcasters across the country, Bark TV has taken the unprecedented step of providing positive, all-dogs, all-the-time programming across a wide range of platforms.”

The recent proliferation of OTA multicast channels and FAST platforms, combined with an existing gap in the TV market for dedicated dog-friendly programming, made the creation and distribution of Bark TV a logical next step for Triple B Media, which operates a portfolio of 24/7 television channels. It’s estimated that 155 million US dog enthusiasts spend more than $100 billion annually on their pups. Thankfully for them, Bark TV is free. And housebroken.

OTA channels broadcast to any home with a TV and a digital antenna within a designated market area (DMA). With new channels like Bark TV, OTA viewers may need to rescan their televisions using either the “channel scan” or “auto-tune” functions. This wider distribution has made Bark TV available as a digital network to about 75 percent of all US households, including eight of the top 10 DMAs in the country.

Bark TV averages several million viewers per month across all platforms, including Dish, Sling TV, Local Now, DistroTV and Streamstak, Triple B Media’s owned and operated platform. Bark TV is also available as an app on Roku. Dog lovers who own a Roku device can search Bark TV from their home screen and download the app.

In addition to playful, positive content from dog influencers and human celebrities, Bark TV also broadcasts tips on how to care for dogs, teach them new tricks and it shares unique ideas for enrichment to keep pups occupied and on their best behavior.
