Camp Bow Wow Upholds its Position as a Leader in the Pet Care Industry

Camp Bow Wow, North America’s largest pet care franchise, has entered the new year with an optimistic outlook following a successful year in 2022. In 2022, Camp Bow Wow celebrated expansion to more than 200 locations while maintaining its focus on thoughtful growth and the health and happiness of every Camper.

Camp Bow Wow also experienced a record number of grant applications for its non-profit organization, Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, which raised more than $200,000 in donations through fundraising initiatives last year. With these funds, the organization was able to help 125 dogs across the U.S. and Canada receive urgent medical care and assistance with veterinary bills.

In 2022, additional system performance highlights include:

  • Ranked No. 1 in unaided brand awareness in a study completed by the brand
  • A 19 percent increase in dog visits, surpassing5 million
  • Received a world-class customer service Net Promoter Score of 87

The strength of the brand’s franchise offering has been recognized in recent industry listings and awards, including:

  • Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500(ranked for 14 consecutive years)
  • Franchise Times Top500
  • Franchise Update Media’s Innovation Award for best social media campaign
  • President Julie Turner was named to Pet Age’s Power 50list
  • VP of Marketing Christy Barneswas included in Entrepreneur Magazine’s first-ever Franchise CMO Gamechanger list

“From opening our 200th location in early 2022 to gathering with more than 500 members of our Pack at our company conference and each milestone in between, we are proud of all that we have accomplished during the past year,” said Camp Bow Wow President Julie Turner. “By keeping our focus on strong franchise owner partnerships, we have been able to continue fulfilling our mission of Making Dogs Happy.”

Looking ahead in 2023, Camp Bow Wow plans to open 20 new Camps with agreements in place for more than 50 locations in the coming years, primarily in Texas, Arizona, California, Tennessee and Florida. The company has sold Camps in 42 states, including its first territory in Alaska.

Throughout the year, the brand will continue to enhance and leverage technology on its website, mobile app and through text messaging to improve the customer experience and drive operational efficiencies to help franchise owners grow and improve their business. It will also remain focused on the expansion of the Camp Bow Wow enrichment program to provide a well-rounded experience that helps dog thrive.
