GoDog Targets Southeast for Franchise Growth After Launching Franchising Platform

GoDog, an emerging premium pet care provider, has announced it is targeting the Southeast for franchise development. Building off the company’s success in Tennessee and North Carolina – with current locations in Durham, NC, Nashville, TN and Chattanooga, TN – the Southeast is a natural fit for GoDog’s further expansion. Within the Southeast region, the franchise is focusing on all major markets in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.

“The pet services industry is booming, with 66 percent of American households owning a pet. GoDog is a true asset for pet parents to provide their dog with the care they need, when they are not able to,” said Amy Nichols, CEO of GoDog. “With the recent announcement of our franchising platform, our sights are set on continued expansion throughout the Southeast, as the region is a hub for new business activity and gives us a great opportunity to provide pet care services for the fast-growing population of millennial pet parents.”

GoDog is a comprehensive pet hospitality concept that offers a range of pet services including daycare, boarding, bathing/grooming and a membership-based dog park and bar. Each location offers a mix of GoDog:PLAY, GoDog:STAY, GoDog:BATHE and GoDog:SOCIAL services.

Currently, four of the top ten cities for pet owners are located in the South, including Raleigh, NC and Nashville, when evaluating four key categories – dog and cat veterinary cost, veterinary access and pet-friendly spaces. Additionally, Millennials are continuing to make their migration south, due to lower housing rates. This age group also currently makes up the largest percentage of pet owners as 75 percent of them own at least one pet. Knowing this, GoDog’s services will be a welcome addition to these pet-friendly cities as our GoDog:SOCIAL service also caters to the devoted pet parent, allowing them to enjoy their GoDog visit while connecting with other owners as well.

“Having spent nearly two decades in franchise development for a very large international franchise brand, I am thrilled to be introducing this new and exciting brand to the franchise community and prospective franchisees,” said Erin Snyder, Vice President of Franchise Development at GoDog. “Our commitment to enriching franchisees goes beyond financial success; it extends to providing ongoing training, operational support and fostering a collaborative community where ideas and best practices are shared.”

GoDog has more than 10 locations currently in development with a lease signed in Durham, NC within the Research Triangle Park area – the brand’s second in this market – and a lease signed in Summerville, SC. GoDog is actively seeking qualified franchise owners to develop locations nationwide. For more information on GoDog franchising, visit GoDog.
