Hollywood Feed acquires Rucker Pet

On Sept. 4, 2018, owners of the Georgia-based Rucker Pet retail chain announced they had sold all four of their locations located in Cumming and Suwanee to Memphis-based pet retail chain Hollywood Feed.

In a statement on their website, Cindy and Scott Rucker said, “We have loved every minute of growing this business and meeting all of you. Your support for the past 12 years has been unparalleled. The time has come for Scott and me to see what the next chapter in life holds for us.”

In its statement Rucker Pet said that Hollywood Feed, with its 77 locations, was committed to maintaining many of the community efforts that Rucker Pet was involved in, which was a significant factor in selling to them.

The Ruckers’ said their plans include pursuing a new venture called Yard Mutts, a daycare and boarding facility, that will operate in the same building where they started Rucker Pet. Hollywood Feed will only use a portion of the existing 12,000-square foot building, leaving the Ruckers’ with the remaining space.
