The agency received awards for its work with Barnyard Bistro and RAWZ Natural Pet Food, two projects that showcase Matrix’s strategic, design-led approach to connecting with pet owners.
The GDUSA Awards is a flagship, best-of-year competition open to the entire creative community, celebrating outstanding work across all media. From more than 6,000 entries submitted nationwide, only the top 10 percent are selected as winners.
Branding on behalf of Barnyard Bistro was honored for its unique aesthetic, which reinforces the company’s farmer-owned roots and commitment to high-quality care for poultry and livestock. The packaging features a full-background farm-scape in a painterly watercolor style, giving the brand a handcrafted and welcoming feel. Each bag showcases a different grouping of livestock rather than a single breed. The Barnyard Bistro logo further reinforces this positioning, incorporating a barn element into the letter “A” within a badge-style mark reminiscent of a western buckle. A handwritten font pairing enhances the brand’s authentic personality.

The redesign presents a content-rich site in a way that feels inviting and intuitive. Products are grouped into categories prominently displayed on the homepage, with dog and cat offerings separated in the menu. All recipes are accessible from a single page via a simplified sub-menu for seamless browsing. Highlighting The RAWZ Fund and the brand’s charitable giving was another central focus, engaging visitors with a bold logo featuring the tagline “100 percent profits donated” and an integrated video showcasing the fund’s initiatives and lasting impact.
