Motel 6 and BestPlace Unveil the Top Pet-Friendly Road Trip Destinations
In honor of National Dog Day (August 26), Motel 6 and BestPlaces have unveiled the first-ever list of top pet-friendly road trip destinations in each US state.
Together Motel 6 and BestPlaces built custom methodology that takes into account access to dog parks, nearby greenspaces and hiking trails, proximity to pet stores and veterinarians, dog-friendly restaurants and patios in the area and more.

- Rockville, MD
- Santa Fe, NM
- Mount Pleasant, SC
- Newport, RI
- Gloucester, MA
- Richmond, KY
- Bend, OR
- Asheville, NC
- Charlottesville, VA
Many households welcomed home a new pet over the last few years and Americans are gearing up to hit the roads with them. A survey from Motel 6 conducted through SurveyMonkey found that the majority (54 percent) of pet owners plan to travel with their pets in the next year.
