OurPet’s strengthen sales across the US, retail channels

Pet supply company OurPet’s announced the appointment of Brian Astman as their National Sales Manager, Corporate Accounts on Feb. 13. It also announced improvements as it expands its reach across the US and multiple channels.

Astman, who served as National Sales Manager at Jolly Pets and as the National Chain Analyst/Sales Manager at American Greetings, will report directly to Dr. Steve Tsengas, CEO of OurPet’s. He will be responsible for the development and growth of new and existing major Food Drug & Mass accounts and the newly expanded e-commerce department. He will also work with the company’s marketing team to launch new products, including their Intelligent Pet Care line.

Dr. Tsengas said, “Brian’s diverse skill set will help us maintain and grow our brick and mortar and e-commerce customer bases as we navigate the dynamics of the rapidly changing marketplace.”

OurPet’s also announced it expanded its relationship with Chuck Latham Associates that represents the company in retailers such as PetSmart, Petco and Independent Pet Specialty (IPS) retailers on the West Coast and Southwest to include IPS retailers in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest. The expanded reach is expected to obtain sales coverage in more than 1,500 independent stores.

OurPet’s also strengthened sales coverage in the Food Drug & Mass channel with the successful engagement of D. Landstrom Associates independent sales agents, based in Minneapolis to cover North Central US including accounts such as Target and Menards. OurPet’s hired Schoenemann Richeson to add coverage in the Southwest.
