Petaluma Welcomes Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist Dr. Sarah Dodd as Advisor and Formulator

Petaluma, a sustainable pet nutrition company, has welcomed Dr. Sarah Dodd, as Advisor and Formulator. A pioneer in plant-based pet nutrition, Dodd is joining forces with Petaluma to reimagine pet food for a more sustainable future.

Dodd has dedicated her career to developing plant-based nutrition solutions for companion animals as a board-certified veterinary nutritionist. She has formulated hundreds of therapeutic diets for dogs and cats with specific nutritional needs, while also developing commercial plant-based products for healthy pets.

“Dr. Dodd brings a wealth of clinical and academic experience as a credentialed veterinary nutritionist, and we’re thrilled to have her join Petaluma,” said Garrett Wymore, CEO of Petaluma. “Her deep expertise in plant-based nutrition, combined with her commitment to both scientific advancement and animal welfare, makes her the perfect partner as we create a more sustainable and humane future for pet food.”

Dodd received her veterinary degree at Massey University in New Zealand before completing her master’s and doctoral degrees at the University of Guelph, where she also completed a residency in veterinary and comparative nutrition. Her research has focused on optimizing plant-based nutrition for companion animals.

“Petaluma is focused on creating a more compassionate food system that’s better for all animals,” said Dodd. “As a veterinary nutritionist, I’m excited to help develop foods that deliver optimal nutrition for dogs while supporting more humane agricultural practices.”
