Petcurean Releases 2024 Sustainability Impact Report

Petcurean, the award-winning manufacturer of premium pet food brands Go! Solutions, Now Fresh, Gather and Summit has released its Sustainability Impact Report for 2024, detailing the company’s progress toward continued innovation and accountability to ensure a more sustainable future for all. The report showcases Petcurean’s sustainability progress in action, notable achievements in the past year and the company’s goals for continuing to build a legacy of responsibility and care while providing premium pet nutrition to cats and dogs around the world.

“In 2024, we proudly celebrated our 25th anniversary – a milestone which showcases our evolution from a small, passionate family operation in British Columbia to a global leader in premium pet nutrition and sustainability,” said Christine Mallier, Sustainability and Community Relations Manager at Petcurean. “We are thrilled to share our 2024 Sustainability Impact Report, which details the deliberate actions we have taken to protect our planet, empower our team, uplift our community, and, in commitment to governance, emphasize ethical leadership and transparency.”

Petcurean’s commitment to manufacturing premium pet food in tandem with being stewards of a deeply interconnected world resulted in notable sustainability achievements in 2024 across four pillars of impact – protecting the planet, empowering the team, uplifting the community and commitment to governance. Highlights include:

  • Donating more than 4.6 million cat and dog food meals to 540 rescues, shelters and community groups dedicated to supporting animals in need across North America.
  • Launching Go! Solutions Benefit Chews, the 2024 Pet Innovation Award winner for ‘Upcycled Treat of the Year’, to fight food waste while providing dogs with nutritious and delicious treats packaged in recyclable bags. In 2024 alone, Petcurean incorporated six metric tonnes of Certified Upcycled ingredients into Benefit Chews!
  • Launching all new kibble recipes in recyclable packaging in keeping with the Company’s July 2022 Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) Packaging Pledge to transition the majority of packaging to recyclable materials by the end of 2025.
  • Achieving PSC Accreditation for the fifth consecutive year by meeting rigorous environmental and social criteria and implementing sustainable practices with measurable results.
  • Maintaining an ongoing commitment to carbon neutrality and continuing to address the impact of Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which in 2024 resulted in an absolute reduction of 37 percent from 2022, Petcurean’s baseline year.

“We feel honored for the opportunity to advance sustainability within the communities we live, work and play in and to see the ripple effects of the work we are doing extend beyond that. Small actions create big changes, and we are proud to continue building a legacy that truly reflects Petcurean’s passion for pets, people and our planet,” continued Mallier. “As we look to the year ahead, we want to thank the many partners who contributed to the remarkable sustainability strides we’ve made in the last 12 months and reiterate our unwavering commitment to building a more sustainable future for all.”
