Roark Capital acquires Pet Supermarket

Roark Capital Group has acquired Pet Supermarket, a leading pet specialty retailer headquartered in Florida, with a presence throughout the southeast market.

Pet Supermarket will remain in Sunrise, Flor. and will continue to be managed by Diane Holtz, Pet Supermarket’s current CEO.

Roark, a private equity firm based out of Atlanta, has acquired more than 40 multi-unit brands within the retail, restaurant, consumer and business service sectors. These brands generate $17 billion of annual revenues across 20,000 locations spanning 50 states and more than 70 countries. Pet Supermarket is Roark’s latest and fourth pet specialty retail investment. Roark previously acquired Pet Valu, a leading retailer based in eastern Canada.

Pet Supermarket operates more than 150 pet specialty retail stores across 11 states. The retailer generates more than $300 million in revenue. Pet Supermarket offers pet owners an assortment of premium and holistic pet food and supplies and emphasizes superior customer service and a knowledgeable staff.
