Inc. 2025 Female Founders 500 List Celebrates Pet Industry Leaders

The prestigious Inc. 2025 Female Founders 500 List has named two pet industry leaders to its list: Scenthound brand Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer Jessica Vogel and Wagmo CEO and Founder Christie Horvath. Now in its eighth year, the ranking honors female leaders who are transforming their industries and challenging the status quo.

Under Vogel’s leadership, Scenthound experienced a year of strong momentum in 2024. The brand expanded significantly, securing 63 new franchise agreements and opening 46 Scenters—including its 100th location. This growth drove a 78 percent increase in system-wide revenue, as Scenthound reached a milestone of more than 1 million dog appointments completed nationwide—reinforcing its commitment to routine hygiene and wellness care.

“Being named to the Inc. Female Founders 500 List is an incredible honor but it’s truly a reflection of the amazing team and franchisees who bring Scenthound’s mission to life every day,” Vogel. “Our success is driven by the dedication, passion and hard work of everyone in our system—from our corporate team to the franchise owners and the frontline employees caring for dogs nationwide. This recognition isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us, working together to make preventive care more accessible and improve the lives of dogs and their families. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such a committed team, and this achievement is a testament to what we’ve built together.”

In 2017, Horvath founded Wagmo, combining her passion for animals with a deep understanding of insurance. A Harvard Business School MBA and Northwestern University economics graduate, she began her career in the financial institutions group at BlackRock before launching Wagmo, her first company.

“I’m proud to be part of Inc.’s 2025 Female Founders 500 List among so many other inspirational women and share this honor with my incredible team,” said Horvath. “I founded Wagmo with a mission to inspire and empower responsible pet parenting. Today, we’re redefining pet care benefits by providing employers with flexible, easy-to-implement plans that pet parents love. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of the Wagmo team, who are committed to improving the lives of pets and their owners.”

“Female founders know what struggle is, but they’re also experts of improvisation, adaptability and creativity. The women featured on this year’s list exemplify these qualities. Through times of uncertainty, their unwavering dedication and steadfast leadership are not only inspiring but vital to driving progress,” said Inc. executive editor Diana Ransom.
